Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

SwiftDL ("the Application", "we", "our") is created and maintained by independent developer NGOC THANG TRUONG. This Privacy Policy describes how SwiftDL handles user information and affirms our commitment to total privacy, security, and transparency.

2. Zero Personal Data Collection

SwiftDL collects zero personal information. Specifically:

• No User Account: You do not need to register, create an account, or log in to use SwiftDL.
• No Personal Identifiers: We do not ask for, capture, or store your name, email address, phone number, payment details, or IP address.
• No Device Fingerprinting: We do not harvest hardware serial numbers, MAC addresses, or unique machine identifiers.
• No Usage Analytics: SwiftDL contains zero third-party software development kits (SDKs), no Google Analytics, no Firebase, and no telemetry beacons.

3. Download URLs and File Transfers

When you enter or paste a URL into SwiftDL, the application connects exclusively to the remote server hosting that URL to retrieve the requested file or stream:

• Direct Peer-to-Server: Network requests travel directly from your Mac to the third-party server hosting the file. No intermediary proxy server or developer-controlled relay is ever utilized.
• Local Storage Only: Downloaded files are saved directly into the destination directory you configure (such as your macOS ~/Downloads folder). SwiftDL never uploads, shares, or mirrors your files.
• Persistent State: Task metadata (filename, byte ranges, completion status, custom speed limits) is serialized locally in private sandboxed application storage on your Mac and is never transmitted off-device.

4. macOS App Sandbox & Permissions

SwiftDL strictly complies with Apple App Store Review Guidelines and operates within the macOS App Sandbox boundary (com.apple.security.app-sandbox):

• Outbound Network (network.client): Used solely to perform HTTP/HTTPS requests to download the specific files you request.
• Downloads & User-Selected Folders: Entitlements (files.downloads.read-write and files.user-selected.read-write) grant access only to save and open downloaded files in directories you explicitly select.
• Clipboard Access: SwiftDL inspects your local clipboard solely when you focus the application to detect whether a valid download URL is present for one-click pasting. Clipboard contents are never sent anywhere.
• Local Notifications: Completion alerts and scheduler notifications are dispatched purely on-device via Apple's native UserNotifications framework without remote push infrastructure.

5. Video Extraction & Third-Party Utilities

SwiftDL provides convenience integration with yt-dlp for media extraction. If configured, media parsing commands run locally on your Mac using standard command-line pipes without sending your browsing activity to any external analytics service.

6. In-App Purchases & Advertising

SwiftDL is completely free. It contains no in-app purchases, no recurring subscriptions, no hidden paywalls, and no third-party advertisements or tracking networks.

7. Children's Privacy

SwiftDL does not knowingly collect or solicit any personal data from anyone, including children under the age of 13. It complies fully with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

8. Updates to this Policy

We may occasionally update this Privacy Policy to reflect future feature enhancements. When updates are published, the revised date at the top will be updated accordingly.
